It's not easy being a mother.  If it were easy, fathers would do it.  ~From my fav show, The Golden Girls

This makes me laugh and also say "bravo" to all the mothers of the world.  I wonder how men can be so nonchalant sometimes about parenting!  They have NO idea what we went through for 10 months, through delivery, and what we go through day in and day out with a little one!  It's bad enough dealing with all the hormones, haha, I can't bear to hear that I'm not doing something to contribute to the household!

It's amazing how quickly you learn to function with one arm, one hand... as a mom, multitasking takes on a whole new meaning!  My husband cannot put clothes on our daughter without my help... if a diaper is particularly messy, he can't manage without another set of hands... he can't even watch tv and hold her at the same time, haha!  These are the little times that I remind him of all that I do, on limited sleep no doubt!  I think he notices... sometimes!

Though I wouldn't have it any other way - when I see that little smile and hear those little coos, it's worth every single backache and yawn.  She's the best!

Already?!!!

I cannot believe we're already half way through November!  Time is going by entirely too fast!

I am SO looking forward to traveling down south for Thanksgiving next week.  Something just clicked in me today that made me excited about the holiday... I'm not quite myself lately so this is a good thing!  My husband is working out of town, so I'll be down the whole week!  It's always been tough living away from my family, and having a little one just makes the longing even greater!

I also realized this morning that I really need to start pulling out my Christmas decorations now to get them out by the first of December!  Last year I had everything done the weekend of Thanksgiving... so if I'm going to pull that off again (with one hand!) I better get to it!

30-Day Challenge

My dear friend Mo has introduced me to a 30-Day Husband Encouragement Challenge.  I have to admit, I'm already doubting my ability to successfully complete this!  I'm not supposed to say anything negative about my husband, to him or anyone else.  Seriously, call me a bad wife, but this is going to be hard for me initially! I guess admitting that indicates how terribly I need this right now!  I suppose it will be good to focus on my actions and words instead of his for a change!

Being at home after the birth of my daughter has been an adjustment on so many levels!  I am not returning to work, which is a tremendous blessing for me.  Nonetheless, two months later I'm sitting here wondering what on earth I'm supposed to be doing, haha!  I am clueless about what kind of routine to start!  And this has made me realize that I haven't been the greatest wife... and I haven't been very "domestic" the past few years.  My husband has taken care of me in a lot of ways the past year, and I don't think I've done much in return.  But I want to be more... and I will be!  Hopefully this Challenge will help... I just pray that I stick to it!

Thanks Mo!
I stumbled upon this cute background, in the midst of wanting to change mine... I want to create something original, but I'm having a time figuring it out again! Hopefully I'll remember and make some time to get that done.

I'm also wondering if I should start a new blog just for Allie... we'll see. Maybe that's taking on too much, haha!
