All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother.  ~ Abraham Lincoln

My wonderful mother drove up to see me today,  just for the day. Wait, who am I kidding? She drove those 3 hours to see her granddaughter, but that's good enough for me!  She brought both of us Valentine treats - I got a gingerbread lady and cheese straws from Holt's Bakery (some of my favorite yummies!) - Allie got an adorable stuffed puppy and a nifty set of "keys" that sing nursery rhymes.  How sweet!  Our visit was short, but well needed.  I would love more than anything for us to be closer, but I'm thankful those 3 hours are all we have to travel!  I can't wait to see her again soon!

I agree with Abe wholeheartedly.  I can't even begin to imagine my life without my mother. She has guided me in countless ways and taught me so much about being a woman, and now, a mother myself.  What an intense reminder of this great responsibility I've been blessed with - being a mother.  I hope I'm half as great as my mother was, and still is, with me and my siblings!
